Caught this log donkey at Enid today in a club tourney. Caught her along with most of my other fish along a ditch offshore in the back of a creek with isolated cover scattered and submerged along the edges of the ditch. We caught most of em by slow rolling big spinnerbaits and buzzbaits but I caught her by pitching a rage craw to some submerged bushes along the edge of the ditch. I think the nickname 'bucketmouth' is well deserved here. :D

Well, it was big enough to take big fish honors, but I don't know on the weight. Our good digital scales and tub we always use to weigh in with weren't there today because the vice president of the club couldn't fish today and he has the scales. We used an old pair of rapala hand scales and an empty weigh bag and it said the fish was 6.37. Granted it was a post spawn fish, I kinda think it weighed more as did everyone else but it didn't matter because nobody had a fish close to that anyway. Then again, it may have been 6.37. I was just going by the other fish I've caught between 6-8 lbs that were weighed on certified scales.

Mossy, reminds me of one I caught out of Priest several years ago. It went on the grill though.

That is a 5 gallon bucket. Caught on a 400 series Poe's.

I have a few of the originals left, but the new ones are junk. I am pretty much throwing fat free shads and river 2 seas deep diving crankbait now.

That's exactly what I've heard. I have a buddy who has some of the original Poes that he got from his dad and I love em. Never tried the river 2 seas but I've heard of em. Where'd ya get em at?

I still have a handful of the old original Poes myself, but halfway afraid to throwem as I hate it every time I lose another one! lol They have their time and place thats for sure!

long donkey......lol....with your permission I'll have to use that in the future.... :D

Lol. I heard that a couple of years ago while fishing a private farm pond. The old farmer, who was in his 70's, came by and asked how I was doing and I told him that I had caught several fish, but nothing big. He told me to keep a chunkin', that there's still a few log donkeys in there to be caught. Lol
