Electronic Check in - "spur length" question

If I remember correctly, the old system had an entry for "Right Spur" and "Left Spur" length. The current version just ask for "spur length." Does it want the length of the longest single spur? Average of the two spurs? Total Spur length? It probably doesn't matter, but I have had this though every time I've checked in a turkey.
