A couple weeks ago I was asking yall about minerals. A few of you mentioned Redmond, so I started looking into it. I found they have a product called, "Hydro". It's a powder you mix in with water tank and apparently makes the water more appealing by providing electrolytes. Essentially it's Gatorade for deer. Do any of you have any experience with this or something like it? Is it for real or just more snake oil?

Not so much? Pretty much mirrors what I found online when trying to research it. There's not much info. I thought it was an interesting concept but wanted to hear some real world experience. I'm going to give it a try this season. I have a 150gal. water tank in Ohio that would be a perfect test. Every animal in the forest frequents the thing like a mud hole in the African savanna. I have enough trail cam history that I should be able to see if there's a worthy difference or not. Seems interesting but gimmicky all the same.

Well if the deer are eating salt from a salt lick then they're getting the same thing

Yeah it looks to be exactly the same stuff with different label. However I found similar products for equine supplements, but with flavors, specifically apple. For $13 I'll find out if they prefer drinking apple flavored water over licking a rock.
