This saturday I think im gonna hook up the boat and try my hand at a little crappie fishing. Will probably be hitting Ft. Loudon since its pretty close to where my boat will be. I have a basic depth finder...and a trolling motor (trolling is not hooked up)

But ive purchased another reel and rod combo today that I am going to set up and use for my crappie and dock shooting. I have never caught one before, but want to pull in a few good eatin sized ones. Wish me luck. I think im gonna maybe try the poland / ish area that I have seen people mention.

I need to be trying to learn to turkey hunt since I have an area with permission to hunt turkey...I just cant get over fishing lately. :/ I just feel I have a better chance at actually catching something with fishing over sitting all day and seeing nothing.

i usually put in at lenoir city park and fish the first slough(fork creek)to the left since i grew up there and my parents still live there.

I looked it up. I dont really see a great place to put in around the knoxville area for ish / poland really...I was looking to not have to travel too far this weekend, but to keep out of the concord area I may have to.

check how deep folks are catching them right now. some this way have dropped eggs and began moving back deep. unless you have brush, it can get tough when they do that.. goodluck to ya

Poland creek has a nice ramp right in the back of the creek!

thank you...maybe I will look into that. I am going in the morning early early and still undecided where i am going to put in.

well i put in on Ish creek this morning. Didnt catch a single crappie, but caught a small cat and a nice sized drum...never caught one of those before...it had to at least be a good 6lbs or so. I had two people mention an area called blue gap?? Anyways...i wasnt the only one not pulling any crappy in.

or it was blue something.....right around ish creek...2 people mentioned it there today....one guy mentioned it being along some old rail road track area, and it goes back to just a pond area or something.

That's where my uncle lives. It's just to the left of ish creeks ramp looking out from the ramp. There's an old railroad embankment with an opening to drive thru.
