Food Plots Dwarf essex rape

So when should i start planting ? Have had a ton of usage from it in the past, but always felt like i planted it too late as it never got more than 6 inches tall. I planted last year around mid sept but lack of rain held it back....should i be planting beginning to mid august ?

Brassica needs approx 60 days before frost to obtain max growth. Will plant ours in 2-3 weeks.

I shoot for around august 10th. Will plant some earlier than that this year due to work schedule.
