Smokeless
I've tested it mixed, but it's really counterintuitive. You need to load the faster powder(booster) first to see the ignition and obturation advantage.

depending on the load/ powder used etc duplexing is really not necessary. I have shot much both ways and unless it is EXTREMELY cold out a duplex is really more trouble than its worth. nothing wrong with it at all but just more to keep up with in a hunting situation.

some say they find the perfect load for their gun using a duplex but I have never found it necessary to do so and still get great accuracy from all my builds..

Bill has shot more than I ever will, and I have the utmost respect for him.

My particular rifles using strait 60 grains of H4198 show major differences(200+fps depending) over the Chrony at temp spreads of 30 or more degrees. Maybe just my rifles, but the Sr4759/H4198 duplex does not have anywhere near that difference.

Sight in at 65 degrees and shoot at 30 and it makes a difference for me. I have not had a misfire and at 100 yards you probably wont notice, but at 200-300 it can change the game for me at least.

I don't plan to shoot 300 but there's a couple of places where it is possible for me. I like the 70 yard chip shots though.
