Anyone ever had any success hunting ducks along the Duck River. Specifically in Maury County? I've had some buddies have some success with some wood ducks. Just wondering if others have done well.

Great hunting and huge numbers of ducks on the refuge, just don't get caught.

Once in a blue moon you will have a good day floating the river. Need it to be very very cold for several days so the ponds freeze. Mostly wood ducks and some mallards.
Talked to some guys about this today and they said exact same thing.

One of the most epic hunts I've had was on the Duck. It had been extremely cold for days and there was a shad kill. You couldn't keep the mallards out of the hole and everyone we killed was stuffed full of shad. I look back on that hunt as one for the books.
