Didn't expect to get drawn, but got the confirmation today for Dec 1-3rd. Does anyone have any helpful information? I don't know much about that place.

Looks like the minimum number of points to draw the island hunt this year was 9 since spoon new of someone with 9 points who did not get drawn.
I had 9 and did not get drawn. Congrats to those that did! I've already been lucky enough to hunt it once.

I hunted there in an ice storm a few years ago. Not the greatest weather to hunt and only 4 bucks were taken on PI and Ensley that I know of.
I was given some advice that I should have taken and that was "Don't just hunt the sign". If the deer numbers are okay, you will find plenty of rubs and scrapes. I will say that it's hard not to hunt sign when you only have a short time to hunt.
The most deer that I saw was an afternoon hunt sitting close to the river where there were openings in the woods next to thickets. The deer I saw seemed to like traveling along the tops of the levees.

I feel like she put out an update last year. I vaguely remember us trying to figure out how many points it would take based on which group you fell into. there was a thread on it

I cant find anything she posted later than what I posted above.
Last year I figured out how many priority points it would take to get draw in years to come. I'll see if I can find those numbers.

I was one of the 6 pointers on the list you composed last year and I now have 8 pts. There is now way that its gonna take me another 15 years to get drawn for the PI buck hunt. I'd wager to say I should get drawn within the next 4 years.
Congrats! I, too, was drawn for the PI Buck hunt with 9 points.

Even though there is some negative talk about PI, ignore it. You have waited a long time to hunt this place so make the best of it. Good luck!
Hopefully I will be hitting you guys, with experience on the Island, up next year. I have 11 points after this year, I had to opt out due to a wedding and work schedule. I will be living vicariously through everyone that drew and is willing to share their experience.
