Disheartening Find

Found this guy in the river this morning. He was a regular on trail cam until the 4th. I wondered why I hadn't seen him around and now I know. I didn't see any obvious injury so not really sure what got him. Was looking forward to seeing him grow. He had brows bigger than most mature bucks I kill.

Dang - hoping these somewhat cooler temps keep the little flies at bay. I've noticed less and less overall the last week or so
EHD is endemic, which means it exists every year. But this year seems to be a subtle year for it. Just a few reports. The wet early part of summer suppressed it, but the hot, dry fall has caused a little late flare-up. I wouldn't worry about it. EHD is season is almost over.
