We were fishing down on the Caney this morning. I heard something making noise in the woods and finally noticed a guy walking around way up on a ridge. Didn't think much of it. We continue down the bank (probably 300-400 yards) and I see something out in the middle of the water. We get closer and it's 7 point. Not putting the two together I go to grab the deer and notice blood come out. Then it clicks... I bet that guy WAY back there at the top of that hill was looking for his deer. I grab it and we cruise back up river and start yelling for the guy. Sure enough it was his. We saved him a LONG drag and a swim for that one.... he was tickled

Good to see people like you out there. There are some who would not attempt to help others. On another note, did you catch any trout?

We were on the upper end of the Caney Fork above Center Hill on the White County Side. We did catch a lot of bass though [emoji6]

I'm willing to wager that deer would have gone to waste without your help. Not many people left in the world today that will help another person out. Let alone somebody that they do not know. I'm sure he was tickled.

Very cool to have helped him out!

That's awesome. Reckon he would've ever found it where he was at?

I don't think so. He was way up on a ridge and would have had to cross a good sized ravine. I'd say we motored him 100+ yards. The guy hadn't even made it to the ravine yet. Even if he had found it, he would have had to go swimming to get him. It was probably in about 8ft if water and probably a good 20' from the bank.

We started yelling for him as we motored back. He was real happy when he saw us towing his buck [emoji2]
