Well all i can say is optics optics optics. I learned my lesson in 2005 hunting antelope in Clayton NM, and today just re-enforced what i already know.

My ex step father I think said it best, If you buy a 500 dollar rifle put a 500 dollar scope on it. Id rather see a cheap ole savage or stevens with good glass than a tricked out m700 with a tasco.

I also have to thanks tim in tn (tim claunch) again for this rifle. I cant tell you what year I got it but i remember the conversation and the place i was at when i had it with tim like it was yesterday. Tim had found some real good deals on arms list auctions for rem 700 bdl ss in 7 saum and 300 saum. I was torn leading toward the 30 cal when tim said get the 7 and never look back. I am glad i listened this rifle is the most accurate rifle I own, IMO it is unfair to the deer when i carry it to the woods especially with the 168 bergers vlds.

this morning at 7 minutes past first light 330 yds lasered with the leica i lit this lil girl up. I dialed in 5 moa and thru the zeiss she was clear as a bell. This is my longest shot ever with this rifle and shot placement was perfect she ran 41 yds.

i need to go to mr big's driveway and stretch her out to 500
Heck yea, let me know if it happens, hopefully my new rifle will be here and I'll have decided on a scope to get for it and I may see if you or him would be interested in helping with some load development for it.

Great point about optics. Buy the best optics you can afford.

it is no joke

i have never heard any one say this zeiss is just as good as my ole tasco

sure i have killed a few deer with tasco and bushnell as long as the holds zero they work but in low light there is a major difference with quality glass

just because

i have busted jug at 500 with my 160 accubond load it does well

killed several with the 160 accubond 140 partition 120 nbt with this rifle and killed a couple with this load as well

both the 160 and 168 shot sub 1/2 moa

here is a target when i was working this load
