First one this year I believe. Caught several last year or two. Does anyone know their exact purpose for being stocked in a 200 acre lake? Been in there from the beginning.

Went yesterday not expecting a whole lot except that the wind would not be up to 20 and not out of the east. Crappie bite was really tough after the strong cold front.About one fish per brush pile holding a bunch. Actually caught more bluegill than crappie.

There is a way to fillet them. Up north they are good eating but the waters are colder. I'm not sure how they would be down here. But as for catching and releasing, they are a fun fish. Nice catch.

I remember a couple years ago there was a guy that caught one off the pier.
He was bragging on how delicious pike were and he couldn't wait to get home and cook it. 😂

Nothing like a carp, you have to pick through the bones to eat them best I remember from my youth, I was never fond of any fish I had to pick around the bones.
