might need to add this one to me collection- great walnut, superb bluing, 20.5" barrel, barrel sights, in a true short action- available in several calibers, but the 308 or 6.5 x 55 swedish will be my choices

Cant go wrong with CZ, best bang for the buck. Ive got a 527 in 22 Hornet that is going to the grave with me.

I havent seen one in person but have heard the 557 is the new cheapened version and the 550 is going out like the 452,,

I did not know the 550 was going out, do you mean being fazed out?

I like it. Especially if chambered for something like the 6.5x55.

it looks like they went all out on it. the only concession I see is going away from the crf action and using a new push feed, which are no doubt more inexpensive to manufacture. the walnut I have seen on them has been excellent and everything is all steel. The accuracy reviews have been off the charts, which I would expect from cz. I like the 550, but they never made a short action version (they did chamber short action calibers in the long action version-which I am no fan of). I guess I will need to do some product testing- for the consumer of course.

I like the CZ rifles also,,the 452 and 527,,what they are doing looks like what Win did in 1964,,I am sure the new rifles will shoot but they wont be the old world Brno masterpieces,,


it is my understanding the only rifle they arent going to change is the big African Safari type rifles,,
