As far as transporting a dead deer between states and from what I understand CWD cannot be detected in a live deer, why not TEST any killed deer someone wants to cross statelines with? If it has CWD then you handle that as needed and if not, you can transport and process the deer however you want. Not sure what it takes to test for CWD, but seems like a great idea if it can be done.

Helps out many people and businesses and is additional testing for CWD. Just a thought.

It can be tested for in live deer but usually involves a tonsil biopsy requiring the deer to be darted first. Even that test takes a significant amount of time to get results back. Skinning/quartering and boning a deer in the field is a pretty simple task. It's just a bit intimidating at first. Small price to pay for me when it comes to getting to go out west and hunt Mulies this fall.
