I have a cva wolf and last year shot TC shockwaves with good success. The only ammo I could find is powerbelt aerotip 245 gr. I have read a lot of things on the net from people saying the wolf wont shoot well with that bullet. I am sighting it in tomorrow. Has anyone had success with this combo?

Update: I dont know what the others were doing, but I sighted in today with the wolf and powerbelt 245gr aerotips. 80 yds.

First Shot: 5 inches high dead center barely left
Adjustment: 12 clicks down 4 clicks right
Second shot: I flinched and hit 4 inches high 1 inch left
Adjustment: None
Third Shot: Right bottom of bullseye
Adjustment: 2 clicks left 5 clicks up
Fourth shot: Dead center 2 inches high
Adjustment: None
Fifth Shot: 1/4 inch left and 2.5 inches high
Adjustment: Take her to the stand.............

I even heard bad things about expansion and tracking. I dug up 2 rounds.

1st: expanded to 1.43 inches at 5 inches in hard pack dirt
2nd: expanded to 1.51 and a nasty razor blade of a bullet at that at about 5 inches of hard pack dirt

Im a fan.......

If you push them fast they will come apart. If you do your part though and put it where it belongs, it want make any difference. I push my with 150gr 777 and they usually shed a ton of weight, but everything in the pump station will be jello. More moderate loads, obviously, it will retain more weight. Been using the platinums for awhile now. They shoot great and retain more weight on average than the standard powerbelt. I had no doubt the CVA wolf would shoot the powerbelts, for it is likely the bullet used for testing.

I shoot the 295gr with 100 grains pyrodex rs. I have dropped two bucks with the powerbelts and both dropped where they stood. The one I shot Saturday morning did not even kick, He was dead instantly. His heart was shredded.

They will work fine with a good shot placement and I liked the platinums when I shot them. They claim the heavier bullets are better, but I was shooting the 223 gr in my 45 and they did the job. Had a couple pass throughs @ 200 plus and deer didn't go far.
