I picked up a stainless optima for a little over $200 a while back thought i would play around with it after season. Just wondering how the results are with this gun shooting 777 or pyrodex pellets with the barnes bullets. Might try powerbelt but i have never shot any of those bullets with no sabots. I dont want to shoot loose powder so hoping to find a load to shoot pellets

? on all of the 777 i have bought 2 pellets were the max reading the lable & 110g was the max on the loose can im thinking,do they have different packages that sez 150g is the max load?

I actually read that for the first time today. My barrel was made to hold 150gr though. My optima I had probably got shot 60 times with no issues. I am wondering if it is for safety reasons since some barrels dont handle a magnum charge?

I can't give you any info as to with a Barnes bullet but my Optima really likes 2-50gr. 777 pellets and a 250gr TC Shockwave.

The optima will handle 150gr charges, CVA only recommends 110gr as the barrel is not long enough to burn it all up and therefore you will be blowing a lot of sparks and wasted powder.

my CVA book states my OPTIMA PRO will handle a 150g,the powder dosent state a brand.in my book it does state to not shoot a 150g load with bullets over 300g,dont know where you are getting your info FrontierGander but lets post what we have in print to keep anybody from over charging their rifle
