I am curious to how many on here that truly think they are a deer/deer hunting addict. I know I am my mind is racing and always thinking of ways to out smart mature deer. I am ate up with the chess match. this time of the year is one of my favorites because imo it is one of the most important part of the year. you get your season started before it starts and I think it has a lot to do with the success you have during the season. hanging stand, clearing lanes, food plots, mineral sites, I don't run trail cameras but you can for sure throw that in it for some, all kinds of things. I think about deer every single day of the year and have been like this for a good while. but I am ate up with the chess match that goes on. I am curious to know at least on this site how many people are like this. I know if I were told tomorrow I could not deer hunt again I would seriously probably go into depression I would not know what to do. same goes for turkey hunting and I love it but there is just something about deer that gets me going.

I love deer hunting but I move on to other pursuits as the year progresses. After the season I line up next year's hunting spots. In July I begin hanging cameras and in October I start bow hunting. I ride my Harley and go to the range the rest of the year. I think I'll do some fishing soon too.

I have only one passion in life, and it is deer. I dedicate as much of my time as possible scouting, studying, and hunting them. I would rather go shed hunting and get skunked than to kill a big tom, catch a ten pounder, find 500 hundred mushrooms, whatever.

When I used to have larger tracts of property to hunt it used to drive me to find the deer almost to the point of being obsessed . But now that all we have are small tracts to hunt there is so much in season scouting to be had although it does pay to do some . As I've grown older it don't bother near as much but knowing a good one is around still ruffles my feathers some

I'm always plannin my next deer hunt... I would say I go very little time without thinking about deer hunting strategy throughout the entire yr.. Turkey's are a good distraction, but they just aren't the same. I may love each turkey hunt as much as each deer hunt, but killing a big ole tom ain't like killin a big bruiser buck! Also turkey hunting is just very different... It doesn't require scouting 6,3, or even 1 month before the season to be successful... To me it's s day based endeavor where as deer hunting is a season long endeavor, and really even longer than that.. I guess the same could be said for deer, but since I've started taking it as serious as I do now.. I feel like I've become a much better mature buck hunter. I'll fish or play a little golf to pass the time but there isn't much id pick over sittin in a tree stand on the last week of November, on a cold frosty mornin!..

Obsessed since age 6. I'm 34 now and I wouldn't say I'm obsessed now but that it has transformed into a way of life for me. It is a year round thing that I plan throughout the year and that leads to many hours in the woods or looking through trail pics and aerials. Everyone that knows me even just a little knows I'm a serious deer hunter. Always have been and always will be. And one day when I'm not able to hunt I'll be sure I'm helping someone through stories or advice that I've learned through my years deer hunting..

So obsession, passion, addicted, or whatever you want to call it. I guess I've at least been through all that. But to me it's kinda turned into a way of life. And boy do I love it! If that's ever took from me, a large piece of me and who I am will be gone.. But the memories and wisdom from all the years will always be mine. And that we should always pass on to others!

Used to be for years running cams sitting in the truck glassing fields in the summer. Now I just go hunting and take my boy when I can. I've hunted the same property for 20 years so I know it like the back of my hand.

I'm an addict when deer season comes around, and I do some pre season work too, but at this time of year I am a turkey addict and also looking forward to relaxing and going fishing all summer

It's still a Fall addiction for me and a few of my Bud's but I've enjoyed October Smallmouth fishing for the last fifteen or so years and will lay the bow down for a few weekends of great fishing.

In my 20's I was a complete Addict.

It took me about 50-years but I finally outgrew it. Once it became my profession, it wasn't quite as much fun. Finally, it became work. Now, I just go when I really feel like it.
