I have always seen a lot of crows on our farms here in west Ten. Does anyone around here hunt them and what are the tactics and strategies used. i always been told by other hunter they are hard to hunt and can see well? Any suggestions. What is the best time to hunt them. I am new to the site and look forward to your responses.

You must be in full camo just like your turkey hunting face mask and gloves etc.. Make sure you have your plug out of your shotgun. Dont ever shoot the first crow that flies by he is the scout. Wait till 5 or 6 are within 30 yds. Never call 3 times in a row fast this is a warning call. Use a red tailed hawk call along with long drawn out crow calling. Here is the best way I can describe it without showing you. long and drawn out

caaaawwwwwwwwwww.....caawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.. cawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

This is a distress dying crow call. Along with a hawk shrill they will come in ready for a fight. Also some days crows will not come to a call. Good luck

Did some crow hunting for the first time at the first of the year using a Johnny Stewart pm-3. the crow card they have for it works really well but you can use and hand call just as well it just uses alot of air. anyways me and my buddy would stand on the edge of the woods over looking a cutover corn field and it worked really well.

Also as stated above yes they can see extremly well and full camo is a must including face mask and gloves.

Crows are very tough to kill, when i shoot at one i keep shooting untill it falls. sometimes 1 shot just isnt enough.
