cross creeks

has anyone ever put any time on cross creeks ?drew a gun hunt in oct .just wondering about the deer pop ect,thanks guys for any help and info

You might do a search on other threads about this hunt. If it's the earn a buck tag then best of luck. My advice is to get away from the crowds because they are coming. Use this pressure to hunt the escape routes. Good luck.

yes its a earn a buck ,don't feel crowd be bad has a 20 hunter quota ,thought id hunt a new area ,went looked at last month wasn't overly impressed with amount of deer sigh(trails and tracks ) what I saw deer numbers seem kinda low for the area ???

You can bet all 20 will be there opening day too. It's like an orange hoard. The deer high tail it to the nearest thicket. I prefer the primitive weapon hunt. Check it out. No draw.

You mite want to check it out yourself, there is no such hunt at Cross Creeks... there are 2 gun hunts for adults, bow/mz/Rifle all the same day...

I was also drawn and have never been. Have some friends that have been though. I put in with intentions of getting a preference point so i would get drawn next year. Apparently not too many people put in for the first hunt or i just got "lucky".

everyone trying to kill their doe

I don't enjoy hunting there during deer season. During turkey season I have ridden my bicycle to get down closed roads, away from the crowds... Didn't work. There were just more hunters coming in from private land access. I scratched it off my list.
