coyotes harassing my dogs - What to do?

I live in the county and am having problems with coyotes come up to within 20 to 30 yards of my backyard harassing my labs. I have tried to lyre them in during normal shooting hours with no success.

What can I do to element these pests and still be legal? Can I legally shoot them at night? They typically cone around between 11 pm and 3 pm. I have thought about setting out traps, but I'm afraid that my own dog might get into them by accident.

HELP - What are my options???

it does not take much light for a zeiss scope on 3 power to see at night, I have shot them in my front yard a few times when I felt that they were harassing my lab

Call your county officer, the regional office, or a local animal damage control operator.

Called the field office in Jackson and they informed me that if the coyotes are endangering or a threat to myself, livestock, pets or property it is legal to shoot them at night. Just cannot hunt them.
