I have 5 covert black mp6 that I bought last spring. One kept running batteries down so I emailed them and they wanted me to send it in for testing. I sent it last week and today I recieved from them a new 2014 covert code black. Is anyone familiar with these. It seems to be ready for SIM card and wireless but I don't plan on using that. Can I just use it as a regular camera like my other ones.

Wow! They sent you back a superior camera than the one you originally purchased!
Yes, you can use it just like you are using the others, as regular trail cams. The Code Black is simply their Extreme Black 60 unit with a sim card and an antenna. You can simply ignore the cellular feature if you prefer.

What you just experienced is the superior customer service that has made the Covert company "famous".
As with all other cams made in China, you are going to have some lemons. But unlike some other companies, this Kentucky-based company distributing the Covert brand ----- They really do place a high value on providing customer service --- at least that has been my experience with them.

But no one should expect to send in a malfunctioning MP6 and expect to get back their top-of-the-line Code Black cam. They would more typically send back a similar replacement cam, but typically it might be a year newer model.

You can use it as a regular black flash camera, but if you by AT&T, for $10 a month you can get 1000 pictures a month text to your phone. I think those are the details best I remember. Love mine.

I couldn't believe it. I opened the envelope and the first thing I seen was an antenna. I was wondering what was going on. I bought five cameras and put them out in June. 4 still have the same 8 aa in them. This one I had to change about every 2-3 weeks. I sent them an email telling them about my issue and they had me send it to them for testing. That was last week. I had not heard from them but this one showed up today. It says code back 3G special ops. I was wondering what was going on. I get no cellular reception in these mountains so I couldn't use it anyways but looks very interesting. Gonna play with it tonight just didn't know anything about this model. Does speak highly of them in my opinion. I had about 115 in my mp6 and these are 250-350 online. I may call them tomorrow just to make sure they didn't accidentally send me the wrong one
