Seems like every time I go hunting the wind is blowing and on top of that it's warmer and it was a full moon. Oh well, at least I'm hunting and it sounded like there were several deer by my stand this morning, I let them move on off before I climbed up.

Re: Conditions

I killed a nice one and then had an even bigger one come out afterwards last Saturday in 20-25mph winds. Deer don't care about the weather if there's a hot doe nearby!

Re: Conditions

The only problem is our deer seem to be behind everywhere else as far as rutting goes, which is good cause this is the last time I can hunt for a week

Re: Conditions

just don't burn yourself out before the hunting gets good :)

I've learned, and now don't even bother hunting until 2nd week of ML. Best dates to kill a mature buck on my farms are Nov 15-20, then again Nov 25-28 (although most of the mature bucks have been killed just before/ during lockdown, so the number of available bucks is just a fraction of what was in the herd prior to the rut)
