AccuWeather showing a cold front moving thru right before muzzleloader. If that happens it's going to be an awesome opening day!
I sure hope so. Local weather is calling for it on Thursday. I sure wish that it was on Saturday instead, but I really just hope that it's cooler regardlessAccuWeather showing a cold front moving thru right before muzzleloader. If that happens it's going to be an awesome opening day!
Calling for rain here on both weather underground and accuweather. Won't stop me from being out there.I'm just worried because several of the models have another rain system coming through opening day.
That's what shooting houses are for!Calling for rain here on both weather underground and accuweather. Won't stop me from being out there.
Just put new canvas on the stand/blind we hunt most. That's what shooting houses are for!

Exact same for me as well. I Love hunting in a light drizzle more than any other weatherBring on the rain. I killed my biggest ever right after a rain squall moved through. And have killed a few nice ones during a drizzle/light rain.
And they get paid for reporting not accuracy.Weather models can't seem to come to a consensus for opening weekend. They all agree there will be rain sometime during opening weekend, but have it at different times. Can't agree on what happens after the rain either. One has a solid cold snap after, one has no cold snap until the 2nd weekend of MZ, and the third model is half-way between the two.
25° here this morning.
Normally I find they're getting pretty good out to 7 days, but we're 7 days from the opener and they are all seeing something different. And they get paid for reporting not accuracy.![]()

As I've said many times, human perception is heavily influenced by the fact we have very poor memories! The other day I posted numerous examples of days in the past 20 years when we had temps in November in the 80s. Just a few years ago we set all-time high temp records during MZ season (mid 80s).Slight NNE wind with rain chances and the temps staying in the 70's. Lows unchanged.. Worst deer season weather I can ever remember...

Again, our memories are poor, especially when it comes to the weather. I'll hear how hot a summer is - worst ever even - only to look at the data and see years where we had 15 days in a row over a 100. How bad the hurricanes or tornadoes are this year, but they were FAR worse in the 50s-60s and even 1920s.I find that hard to believe. It may have got that hot but I bet the Avg temp has to be much warmer this fall. Last fall was bad too. Everything is green no killing frost yet, leaves on trees.
That was my dads answer to everything . I even had it put on his tractor canopy. He wasn't big on any excuses.Weather just like hunting is unpredictable. Improvise - adapt & overcome.....
It's been terrible weather. I don't know if it's the worst ever but definitely tied.Slight NNE wind with rain chances and the temps staying in the 70's. Lows unchanged.. Worst deer season weather I can ever remember...
It has been a well above average October, that's for sure. And one of the driest on record. And it's looking like at least the first half of November will be well above average. Record breaking? Not even close. But well above average. It's been terrible weather. I don't know if it's the worst ever but definitely tied.
I try not to complain about the weather, but this fall has been absolutely maddening minus the cold snap in mid October that lasted for like 4 days.
Absolutely maddening.
