Hi all,

I am planning on paddling the Clinch below Norris for the first time. I've canoed tailraces before while generating, but never this river. Should I make sure to go at low water, or should I shoot for generation? I'm looking for big trout and stripers.

Thanks,

Pete

I have only canoed it when generation was off and was quite a ways down stream when it turned on. I think I would try it first while generation is off. Then if you feel brave enough try it with only one and work your way up to two or more.

For Big trout and stripers I would go with at least 1 generator running. It is not a tough river to navigate. When the water is not running there are a couple low spots but nothing to be too concerned about. Just make sure you don't get sideways and you will be fine.

Thanks very much for the info.

Model70Man, I tried to send you a PM for more info, since I've seen you post about the Clinch quite a bit, but it said you were over your limit of messages. I'd love to pick your brain a little bit.
