Picked up some federal 3rd degree to try in Benelli Vinci 12. Looking for idea where to start on choke.
Indian Creek .660 or .665, I would lean towards the .665 with the length of the barrel though. Just my .02 and admittedly I am an Indian Creek fan.Picked up some federal 3rd degree to try in Benelli Vinci 12. Looking for idea where to start on choke.
Barrel will be 23"Indian Creek .660 or .665, I would lean towards the .665 with the length of the barrel though. Just my .02 and admittedly I am an Indian Creek fan.
You cutting it down?Barrel will be 23"
Go with the .660 then. I have a shorty barrel on my Mossy 535 and honestly with a .660 Indian Creek that gun may throw a better than any other gun I have. It kicks like a mule but throws a gnarly ass pattern. You cutting it down?
Understatement of the year. I get a good chuckle when people talk about their 835 kicking hard (which it does) but those 535's are unimaginableMossy 535 . It kicks like a mule but throws a gnarly ass pattern.
Very first dedicated turkey gun bought it in 2011. I didn't know anything really about turkey hunting. So I bought some Winchester Supreme 3.5" shells. Brother they rattled my sphincter. Needless to say I switched to 3" shells really quick.Understatement of the year. I get a good chuckle when people talk about their 835 kicking hard (which it does) but those 535's are unimaginable
Never shot any until the other day after picking up a 20 gauge and testing several different rounds. Will not be getting anymore 3rd degree. And honestly Ive not seen 3rd degree pattern good yet. Im still testing so we will see.
I am limited as it's getting threaded for tru choke threadsIf you're looking for a budget choke look at Truglow Head Banger. I have one and it does better than some of the higher priced chokes. A great mid range price choke is Jebs. I have two Jebs and they both do very well. The high end is Indian Creek. If you dont care to spend $100 on a choke get an Indian Creek. I would start with a .665. That seems to be a very good overall constriction.
