Had something similar happen in Royal Blue. Set up on some birds using a pile of trees that had been bulldozed up for cover. After about 30 mins I got the feeling I wasn't alone and looked to my right, 1 foot from my thigh was a big timber rattler coiled and staring me down. Rather then panic I just rolled out of his reach. I should've been bit but the good Lord looked after me that day. I didn't kill the snake since I'm not a snake killer and also felt he deserved a pass for not nailing me :)

Dang! I hate snakes and that would have scared the p*ss out of me!

That is crazy, but he did the best thing he could by staying calm and not moving a muscle. Impressive control of the nerves to say the least. Thanks for sharing.

I'm betting that he never knew it was there till he watched the video. Prob happens more than we think.

Go back and watch the video again. Watch his hand. At about 1:09 (or in that area) he spots it and flinches a little bit.

I picked up on that, but all in all, he held his composure which was amazing. 95% of the population would have screamed, jumped up, ran, stumbled, fell down and some more chit getting out of there. :)

I agree, maybe even a higher percentage of the population. That dude is definitely cool under pressure.

He says in the comments first time he saw it was in the video.

He does say that. Must have been having a bad dream, he jerks his leg in the video while its crawling over his shin. It looks like he noticed it at that point and kept his composure, but I guess he didn't.

Nice! He had to be asleep if he didn't see it crawl over his boot. That could have been the flinch.
