From the overrated SEC they only got two of the four spots.

UF at 10... Not bad for a team that was only supposed to finish ahead of Vandy and KY. :rotf:

I didn't see the preseason SEC Champs TN in any of the conversation..

Come on Stanford.

ND just sitting there at 5 waiting to move up.

Also looks like UF could be on outside looking in if they somehow won rest of them and the SEC.

LOL go back and look at Vol won/loss prediction thread.

Nice try though ;) :D !

Putting out a poll this early is a joke anyway you look at it. Especially when 2 of the top 4 play Saturday. I can't wait until that game is over and we don't have to hear from the Updykes until next year.

#3 is about right and enough disrespect of the undefeated defending national champions to serve as good motivation.

Alabama at #4 is a bit curious given the loss and undefeated Baylor, TCU, and Sparty behind them. But the real head scratcher is Notre Dame at #5. That makes no sense.

If UF wins out and won the SECCG they would be a lock.
LSU-Bama
Tcu-Baylor
Iowa-MSU all still play each other. If UF handles their business they will get in. Long way to go.

GNB bumped a few the other day. :rotf:

Don't count the chickens before they hatch spur. Let the game Saturday be played first. It may be more than one team in the top four that gets beat before the end of the season. That's the fun of watching the games. ROLL TIDE! :)

Ahh... Overlook him. If TN was in that spot his tune would be different.

I want to know what TeamMainStreet thinks about this first CFP poll...especially the team sitting at #5.

:rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

Why 5? Only 4 matters right? Why don't u just say the first 25. No difference after the first FOUR. :tu:

What? ND at #5? # 5 is the first team to miss out. The copper cloverleaves ain't getting in. Sorry. :tu:

Actually, they will be in next week, after the Bama/LSU game.

That is why we have to pull for Stanford. However, they may just go down this weekend. Wouldn't it be great for Peterman to pull that off :D ?

If ND and Stanford win their next 3 games and ND beats Stanford on 11/28, then ND is getting in.

This #5 ranking is perfect. It will give Brian Kelly a huge motivational tool. Win out, and do it convincingly, and we are in! :super:

How many of you expected ND to be #5? I can imagine what thoughts went running through a few heads when they saw that. :rotf:

Florida will be a lock until the conference game. They will run the table in the regular season. If the can find a way to win the conference championship game they will be in easy. If ND makes it, that will be a waste of a spot.

It's early with a lot of big games left before being an armchair qb. It's football and one of those teams sputter the list will change. I'm not putting any money just yet!

There is still a ton of football to play folks.

Only 1 of the initial top 4 ended up in the Playoffs last year.
...MS State dropped to 7th Florida State made it in, Auburn dropped to 19th and Ole Miss Dropped to 10th.
Alabama moved from 6th to first, Oregon moved from 5th to 2nd and Ohio State(the eventual winner) moved from way down at 16th to 4th.

Realistically anyone in the top 15 could still somehow get in. One thing that jumps out to me is at this time last year there were only 2 undefeated teams...This year there were 10 when the initial poll was released(9 now that Toledo lost tonight).

"...if, if, if, Notre Dame..blah blah.. all they have to do..if, if, if..Notre Dame..if I had a leprechaun's butt to kiss for luck the Irish would be #4.. ." :smash: :D :rotf:

Definitely will change because Ohio and Michigan state still have to play each other and if Iowa can hold on to the west they will more than likely play the winner of that game. So 2 of those teams will more than likely drop out of the top 10 unless others behind them fall too.
