Is anybody else planning on hunting Catoosa this weekend? I haven't been up there since last year when I hunted the gun quota hunt. Had two does and a little nub head walk within 10 yards of me and I was sitting on the ground! I'm hoping to go back tomorrow and scout it a bit and see if I cant get back to that same spot. I just wondered how much more logging has been done up there. i was sitting about 75 yards away from a large fresh clear cut and those three were heading towards it.

Will be heading up for all 9 days hunting bicolor side went up 2 weeks ago and they took a big chunk of woods out on the right hand side of road right before u get to white oak rd we took 3 does out of that patch 2 years ago no trees to climb now they have cut a lot out on whole area also noticed they haven't planted probably 30% of fields on bicolor side good luck and be safe

I've went to catoosa at some point during hunting season every year since I can remember. Never was a fan, were making the longer trip to LBL in a week or so always had much better luck there.

Was up there Sat to squirrel hunt on bicolor side and i can honestly say i had to hunt to find timber big enough for squirrels. The timber i did find is marked off to be cut. Did not see a deer all day so i'm out.

I'm planning on heading up to Genesis and see if I can have some sort of luck. Thanks for replying! Good luck to yall goin up there. Be safe

Well, there probably won't be anybody wearin orange up there on this hunt. You really just have to scout hard and go to really hard to travel spots to get away from everybody else. It definitely get busy! Shouldn't be as many on an archery hunt.

Put out a camera a week ago around a cluster of oaks...plenty of sign where I was at. Plenty of acorns though. Because og weather, Im not heading down till Wednesday. Should be good movement after the front moves through.

Thanks for the update. Was planning on heading up there Thursday to hunt a couple days, but now leaning toward staying close to home and hunting AEDC.

If it's as windy there as it has been here the last 2 days I bet the deer can't stand up long enough to move before they get blown back over.
