Awesome! That's my goal this year is to double on yotes or have a cat and yote at the same time.

These traps weren't 30 yrds between them first time i have ever had one killed and chewed up .i think the one that is alive was in the process of being faught when i was on the way there.

I'd say what you witnessed is 1 in a million! Not sure how much that happens. Pretty wild.

Now if you'd gotten there and the one in the trap had killed one that came to kill it then I believe I'd called a truce and let it go (not really)

Would have bought a winning lottery ticket . I know it shows just how cruel they are

Slow runs this weekend. Got a possum in a foot hold today. I tripped everything at my farm 30 mins away. Will reset once this rain and the snow and ice we're supposed to get tonight is gone.

The land owner who lets me hunt and trap wants a full body mount. In fact that was our agreement, if I caught the black one he wanted it. There is a second one and I'm going to try for him.

Had 2 caught this morning one had been wooped on and the other was dead when i got there. Other coyotes got her. View attachment 260230View attachment 260231

I've had coyotes rip a red fox apart one time . It took 67 stitches to sew that pelt back together . On a another occasion i was checking traps one night around 9 and seen cat eyes shining back at me when I got close to the traps and it ran off but what I didn't know was I had caught a tom and the other one had been fighting it and killed it .

On a another occasion i was checking traps one night around 9 and seen cat eyes shining back at me when I got close to the traps and it ran off but what I didn't know was I had caught a tom and the other one had been fighting it and killed it .

It was a first for me as far as coyotes goes but i have had some coons and skunks eaten.

I made 5 new sets yesterday and ran a 20% catch ratio . The set I used was a walk through set similar to a walk through for bobcats . He was caught on the border where two packs share territory. The bait manufacturer was from the J.M SMUCKERS COMPANY . I think it was the dominant male out seeing if anyone has crossed over in his territory.

Man, I always pick up dogs when it snows! With these super cold temps, they outta be hungry! I had plans to remake sets during to the rain last week and get new sets I. The ground this weekend but I have been spending the night at UT NICU with my brother in law. His daughter was born Friday night and she had some problems. Coyotes will be there when she gets to come home though!

Got everything tripped right now but starting Saturday its goi g to be on

Possum on Saturday and Sunday. That's been it. I was averaging a yote or cat about every 3 days but now been over 2 weeks without a big catch.

I tripped all my land sets Sunday morning didn't want to fight the deep freeze . I will continue on the beaver sets with a 72 hour check on them . I can tell you that it wasn't fun wading yesterday afternoon but I did pick up a good otter haven't skin it yet still frozen solid. Did manage to pick up 7 coons on Saturday's check .

This set is/was a trench set with Hiwatha valley and gusto. Lots working against me on this ones. Trap dug up 2 weeks ago. Then it snowed and I had something fire the trap. Remade set 2 weeks ago with my last bit of wax sand and ended up springing the set so I had to make do with what I could. Plus the gate laying in the ground is new. It had been upright for months before the last snow. Basically just saying that sometimes, leaving a set in the ground pays off!

Nice catch. Congratulations. With all this snow and cold think scent just lingers. Got to let that steel hunt.
