The other Canada thread motivated me to dig up some old pics. from my 2nd trip to the Boundary Waters. We caught a bunch of fish and some nice fish, but I don't really remember the fishing much.

I just remember six good buds hanging out by the campfire telling stories. We even suckered one of those knuckleheads into a full-blown snipe hunt on an island with banging pans, trash bags and the whole works. :D I can't remember ever laughing that hard again.

I guess I was in between freshman and sophomore year of college, maybe 1985. What great memories!!!!

Nice pics! Are you the "young" dude with the scruffy beard holding up the smallie ? I have never seen a picture of you without the grey hair :D

Sadly, I started graying right about then, in college. I'm the one with the beard (if that's what you call that pitiful thang). :D

Looks like it was a great fun trip.

Your group should plan another trip before ya'll get too old.

I have that same tent. It was bought in 82 and the last time i put it up it was as good as ever.

We rented those tents but I have the same tent in 2-man, too. I still use it when I'm solo. Really, nobody has ever improved upon that old design IMO.

Never fished the Boundry but I've made 4 or 5 fly in trips to lakes on Albany River. Always caught walleyes by the dozens. A lot of northerns. I hate them, taste bad and eat too many walleyes. Never caught any smallies there but, one trip we ran up a creek and caught 3 or 4 brook trout.

Canada, to me, is the best. I will go to the Quetico in the next couple of years. I will try to get a few of my pictures and add if that is ok there gil.
