It was cold and windy but this female bobcat came within about 45 yards before my wife spotted her. Of course the cat came in the 'wrong' way. I slowly turned around and blasted the bobcat with my Stevens .223. This was the same stand where I called in a coyote a week earlier. May go tomorrow to the same general area if I can stand the weather. Plateau Hunter

Catchdawg I am very new to this calling and no expert by any stretch of the imagination. I usually just ambush them; this season I killed a 3 legged coyote with the .223 while deer hunting and another bobcat with my .358 while deer hunting.

But since deer season ended I have been using a Knight & Hale Master Predator 1 I think is the name of it. It is a rabbit squaller type of call. I shot a coyote from the same setup exactly a week ago. Some one told me the K&H Double Threat was a great call. I found a lot of coyote tracks and scat in the area and know there are several more around. Plateau Hunter

I'd like to go out to my lease where we have a good number of cats and coyotes. I got a nice cat this year, and another last year, both while on stand. If anybody in the Memphis area (my lease is in Hardeman County) would like to get out and try / teach I'm open to take someone with me. PM or call 901-488-1780.
Thanks Plateau Hunter for the call info.
