Anyone use a bore snake on their rifles? Thinking about giving them a try and wanting some feedback. Thanks

I've used them on ARs and really like them. I always ran mine till it was pretty clean, just a few passes, then run a light coat of oil through, then another patch to remove any excess oil. Bore snakes make cleaning quick. Just don't be stupid and soak it in solvent...ive seen it done.

I love them. Makes breaking in a barrel on a semi-auto much easier not having to break it all the way down just to swab it. Especially if you've ever seen the makings of a FNAR

Excellent for in-the-field cleaning.

There are other choices for at-home maintenance that perform much better.

I like them for small calibers. I need to get one for my 17hmr. That thing is a pain.

Agree. The .17 is a pain to clean.
I will warn you I have the 17 bore snake and it is a pain to get the brass weight through the barrel.

Based on this thread, I went out and bought one for a .30 cal barrel. I really liked it a lot and have since bought a 270 and am going to pick u one for 6.5 MM and .22 LR.

I like em as well Seen one before Christmas from Lucas Oil Outdoor that I hopeing hits the store soon.
