Blackhorn powder

Have a hunting buddy who has switched from 777 to Blackhorn this year. He is shooting a pro-hunter and loading 250gr. shockwaves. We spent a few hours at the range Sat. trying several different loads but couldn't come up with any combination that grouped as well as what he had been getting from the 777. While his groups were acceptable for hunting we would like to shrink them down a bit. We started at 100gr. and worked up to 120gr. in 5gr. incriments. After sending a dozen rounds down range in three shot groups I suggested we see if we could locate anyone who was shooting the same powder/bullet combo. that had already found a load that produced good groups. Any suggestions?

I shoot the prohunter with 105 grains blackhorn and the 250 grain shockwave and I get great groups with it.3/4 to 1 inch most every time when I do my part and thats not just every now and then.
Back down to 90 grains and see what that might do.yours may not like the shockwaves so try some different bullet combos.
Was u shooting the easy glide shockwaves? Had a buddy that ran out of the regular shockwaves and he bought some easy glides and he couldnt hit a 12 inch circle at 100 yards.But reg. shockwaves gave him 1 to 1-1/2 groups.
