I am new to blackpowder shooting. Been shooting most all of my life, but not black powder. I bought a CVA Kodiak Magnum. I took it shooting. Shot 777 pellets. Not impressed.
I have read about this 209 powder, suppose to have excellent ballistics and almost no mess, and no corrosion. I bought some yesterday. I plan on testing it this weekend.
Anyone have any real experience with it? Thanks.

Did not mean to double post on a subject. Shot this weekend. Dry swabbed between shots and the barrel was as clean as it was when I left for the range, very impressed. As for the accuracy, I was just sighting it in, so it came in as I wanted, but can't compare to others, I don't have the experience.

I swabbed between shots, since I had swabbed between shots with the triple 7 pellets, and I wanted to compare both powders in the same way, to be more accurate. As I have said before, I am far from a blackpowder expert.
I like the 209 powder based on its less corrosive qualities, exhibited so far.
As for the accuracy, I was still sighting in so no comparison there. With regards to the speed, I did not take the chronograph, so no info there either.
I am just very impressed with the lack of fouling when used.
