Big South Fork bears

How is the bear restocking going at the Big South Fork?

I don't think their restocking them.I think they did it back in the early 90's. But there are bears there still. We seen one in bandy creek while riding horses and was talking to a park ranger 2 years ago while hog hunting and he told us that he belives that there are about 30 known bears in BSF.

They supposedly only had that one reintro. There are quite a few of them countywide now. The highest concentrations arent even in BSF since theres much better habitat outside of the park. They appear to be doing well on reproduction. I know a sow had 3 cubs this year. Heck, there was one came through the city of Jamestown this past Fall. Went right by the sporting goods store. Coon hunters starting to tree more and more as well.

yeh, i ran into a big male while deer hunting there, i was on the ground and had him at 25 yrds. they are getting more prevaliant but doubt they will have a season. i do know there coming into pall mall now.
