What is the best muzzleloader on the market right now for under 450.00. Yeah sure, TC's are great but thats not what I'm asking. I'm looking for a 45cal muzzleloader and these dam things are like computers. You go one or two years without paying any attention to them, and everything has changed, and on top of that, the 45's are just about obsolete. I have a lot of powder and bullets in 45cal, and thats why I want one, and plus I just like a 45. Looking for something maybe with a break down type action and easy to clean. Thanks

I had a Traditions in the Bolt action style and that gun never let me down. Killed a bunch of deer with it. But it was such a pain in the butt to clean, I eventually gave it up. Got a CVA and regardless of whether it was cleaned or not, sometimes it would fire and sometimes it wouldn't even strike the primer hard enough to go off. With the traditions it was never a question of whether or not it would go off. But with the CVA it was 50/50 everytime you pulled the trigger. HEard good things on CVA now, so I am open to them also. Just wanted some other opinions.

Myself I dont care for the stock on the Optima.mho..I like the Traditions pursuit line..For the money either one are hard to beat..Just get a break action..Lot easier to clean..I shoot 2-777 50gr...250gr. Shockwave bonded with the Superglide sabot in my Pursuit Cuts holes at 100..........
