What's the brightest flashlight with good run times? I'm looking for something in the $75-$100 range but will spend more if it's justifiable.

Surefire with led wont eat them quick at all. I use about one battery a year in mine. I like the dual output for low beam and very high beam. Surefire E1l outdoorsman is what I have, had it for several years, very good light. Just make sure to get the led version.

They have a flashlight at lowes i will look at the name on it tomorrow it was $29.99 takes 3 or 4 aaa 320 lumens and has been very durable, good battery life as I have had with any streamlight, surefire i have owned

Check out EagleTac. Much better lights than surefire and quite a bit cheaper. I've had 2 over the last few years and have had no trouble what so ever!

Hand held..., all I've used is mini mag. The new LED are even better. Head lamp..., Princeton tec.

petzel head lamp.. get a year or so on one set of batteries.. no troubles thus far going on three years i believe

Anything with LED and the highest Lumens you can find. The more Lumens on LED the more it's going to cost cause they haven't perfected the LED manufacturing process so the more LEDs the higher the price.

Streamlight led pen light, green color.......not too bright so your eyes don't dialate but when tracking blood I use a bright white light if I need

Void Hawk Flashlights

This may be just what you are looking for. They look to be really good and are in your price range.

The jetbeam 3m pro is by far the most impressive light I've ever seen in reference to brightness and run time!!! You guys looking for a quality flashlight should take a look at this beast! It's a batteryjunction.com
3 hours at 1100 lumens, 5 hours at 500 180 lumens at 7.5 hours and several other settings that get a lot of run time as well. It runs off of two different batteries which is handy. I saw a flashlight "techy" review online and was highly impressed. At 320 meters, it has a tight beam! It's the newest Cree led technology. All for $69

I paid $30 for a Petzl Tikka 2 LED headlamp, and it could bring the space shuttle in for a landing. In over a year of wearing it to hunt and to run with (60 mins or more at a time), the AAA batteries haven't come close to running down. It has two brightness settings (I rarely need the bright one), a pivoting up & down head, and a comfortable headband.

Not sure the brand but I took my Scout Pack cave camping at Cumberland Caverns about last year and part of the package was a headlamp and I have yet to find anything better or longer lasting. LED with a high, low and strobe and I have used them a ton fishing, camping and boating for nearly a year with very little dropoff in performance. I am going to put new batteries in before I hunt when gun season starts but those will be what I use.

I will get the brand when I get home from work and post it.
