This fall I had to relocate 8 box gardens from the front of my house (high traffic and visibility) to the back of my house, adjacent to my pasture.
We do get the occasional deer in the pasture at night, there are no woods near me.
However the nocturnal deer have found my new box gardens, and are hammering my fall clover covercrop.
No great loss. But they will really hammer a spring and summer garden.
Fencing? Electric fencing? Double row of fencing 36" apart? I've seen some examples on line…I do not have permanent power so solar?
The area to be enclosed to protect boxes is 50' x 60'
Any advice is appreciated.
Deer are only nocturnal. I have dogs, but put them inside garage at night.
