Best 308 Deer Bullet

Just got a new 308 and would appreciate your advice on the best bullet for deer (weight and type). Thanks.

125 gr Nosler Balistic Tip,,keep it below 3000 fps and you wont find a deadlier combination..

I'm partial to the 168gr Barnes TSX, accurate and great penetration.

I like the 130 gr Tipped TSX (3200 fps) and the 165 gr Interbond.

I've only killed one deer some years back with a 308 and that was with the plain jane 150 gr. Federal Classic loads. It did a fine job though with complete penetration through the chest cavity and spray all over the grass 20 feet beyond. The little buck ran maybe 20 feet and dropped. I've shot 308s a lot and always liked the 168 match bullets for playing around with targets but that's the only deer I ever shot with one. I just recently bought another one and have been playing with the target loads again. If I wanted to use it for hunting the 165 Nosler Ballistic tips usually shoot about the same as the 168 Hornady or Sierras.

Make mine a Hornady Interlock 150gr or 165gr bullet.
