for elk 180 or 200 yes,,but for 200 pound or less whitetails the 150 Partition at speed will deliver a shockwave like none other, the front nose is real soft and expands well and the rear behind the partition holds the rest together and pushes it out the other side,,I killed a bunch of deer with the RUM and I figured the heavy bullets would be the way to go,,using 165 ,180,190,200,and 210 gr bullets,,in my experience the heavier bullets expand just as much as the lighter ones causing massive damage and meat loss,,the 150 partition will blow a decent sized hole but nothing compared to the heavy bullets,,
but all is moot unless the rifle will shot the bullet accurate,,any of them will kill deer dead,,I just prefere what the 150 Partition does to a whitetail over all the other 30 cal bullets,,but I have not used the 135-150 grain Barnse X bullets,
and the theory of the heavy bullets shooting flatter and holding up better in the wind is just that a theory, that doesnt come true until you are well past what nearly everybody says is an ethical range,,
run the numbers through any ballistics program,,the 150 going 300 fps faster will shoot flatter and hold up better in the wind and hit just as hard as the 180 going 300 slower,,until you get to about 675 -700 yards,,with much less recoil,,past 700 the 180 and up will start to overtake the 150,
