Be careful

Just wanted to post a reminder to be careful of who you choose to deal with to buy/sell. I posted a WTB in the classifieds and had two members with low post counts respond via PM. Had they been regulars then I would have worked out something with no hesitation, but since they had a low post count I wanted to do some research before making a deal.

First of all, when you look at a member's post count, you can also click on that number and see their posts. Do their posts make sense, seem trustworthy, AND DO THEY LINE UP WITH WHAT THE INDIVIDUAL IS TELLING YOU ABOUT THEMSELVES?

Even if they send you photos, MAKE SURE TO TALK TO THEM. If their "phone crashes" and they can only talk to me by computer then my spidey-sense tingles.

If they get nervous when you talk about meeting up or finding a ride, and they will only ship to you if you submit payment via PayPal f&f, then you know what's up.

Sorry for the rant, and 1 of these guys may be legit, but I'm not going down that path. One of these guys I'm certain lives offshore or in his momma's basement making a living off of gullible people. I've been on here for a long time and have had great dealings with most of the regulars, but I'll gladly be an old fuddy-duddy that sticks to what I know instead of getting taken

I've never made a deal with someone that tells me to pull up to the black truck. I hear the truck doors unlock, open the truck door and get what I need out of it. I then leave money somewhere in the truck and shut the door. I turn around to leave and there's a dark outline of a man standing across the parking lot in a window watching me the whole time. Yup I just described half of our transactions.

Tell them you will wire them the money but they need to first provide all their bank account details, name, address , and social security numbers to you.

I'm with you. Longtime members I trust. The ones with low post counts in other states will have to pass. Glad you didn't get burned.

@EastTNHunter what you are saying is true and a good warning/reminder to others. I'm a member of multiple forums as am sure most on here are as well and you hear of this type of activity. Or even a long-time member that has not been active for years and then suddenly has an amazing deal (hacked account).

Blue haired Prius drivers FLEE when I pull up to a gun deal. There's usually 3-4 members getting out of their trucks with weapons. It brings a tear to my eyes.

I've only had one deal out of "a few" that didn't go as planned and even at that, it was still ok. 99.9% of the dudes on here are solid. @Hduke86 had to ruin to perfect score

There's always got to be that ONE that messes up a good thing and I'm always glad to help I'm waiting for a Tndeer drop box. Take gun to secured drop box location and give the buyer the time limited code. He pays the machine and it dispenses his newly acquired gun. Sends funds directly to the seller
