Bag Limit question

I was asked this question and wanted to get an official answer before responding. Say you are squirrel hunting one morning and you have knocked out 10 squirrels, but only picked up 7, even after trying your hardest to locate the other 3. Can you continue hunting in search of 3 more, or are you done for the day?

There is some gray area in an answer to that. On the "realistic" side, is that if you don't have more than the 10 squirrels on your person when checked, it is pretty doubtful that the other three could come into play.

Ethically, if you KNOW you killed those three..........
