Then I don't know what your definition of bad traffic is. Cause there ain't a soul in greeneville gonna tell you the traffic isn't bad. Unless you're driving through there at midnight. I've lived in Greenville for 44 years. By your comparison of 2007 compared to now there's no comparison. If you can't hardly pull out a side road to get on 11e. And backed up red light after red light then I call that backed up.
You can literally drive thru downtown at the peak of daily traffic, hit every red light , and it won't take you 15 minutes tops to go from Wal-Mart to Mosheim. Lol. Patience is a virtue.

The point isn't how long can it take you the point is traffic is much worse now than it was just 5 years ago. And from Walmart to Mosheim is about 5 miles. With 4 lanes of traffic. And the comment I made was to a guy that hasn't driven there in 20 years. If you think it's remotely close to a leisurely drive like it was just a few years ago. Then either you weren't around at that time. Or haven't paid any attention.

Yeah G-ville is a little more congested than in the 80's and 90's but where in Tenn ain't it that way?!? Up here in the Tricity it's a whole lot more. Jonesborough will be the largest retirement community in the nation by the end of next year. Don't believe me,go to YouTube and do a search of Jonesborough and see how many out of state builders have videos on why it's the best place EVER!
Can't stand the way things are going. Tons, and I mean TONS of Yankees filling in every single level 2 bdrm efficiency as fast as they are built. The infrastructure hasn't even begun to catch up with the grotesque amount of people moving in just to use this state as a tax shelter. They don't give a damn about the people here NOR of the heritage we hold dear. I don't talk much but I do listen ,very attentively, and they don't have anything nice to say except how they want to "see this place" become more like wherever it is they escaped high taxes from.

I don't work in johnson city or Jonesborough. Been about 5 years since I had. But johnson city wasn't even that bad say 2007ish. Yankees are piling in all over n east Tn . They think for some reason they aren't the reason that whatever state they left sucked bad enough to want to leave in the first place. They didn't make tax's go up. They didn't raise the cost of housing. But they are doing that very thing right now but in TN. So tell me why they wouldn't have contributed to their problem if they've contributed to mine. In a state they just moved to.

I've met a lot of people who have moved here from up north and out west and have yet to meet any of them that say they want to change things to like where they come from. Lol. The ones I've met are gun owning conservative minded people who want away from the government regulations and want to be left alone.

Define leisurely. If Taking 10 minutes to go thru a handful of red lights stresses you that bad, I'd recommend therapy and some meds. Lol. I bet you're the life of the family get togethers. Lol.
JC, Knoxville ,and Chattanooga traffic is bad. Greeneville is a Sunday stroll.

A few, sure…most I've encountered are the complete opposite of what you've met so the reality probably lies somewhere within the middle. You've also got to realize this little area up here is a bit different than GVille as a lot of individuals with Asheville like views have populated this place for years. Just take a look at our school boards, planning commission and city commission voting records. Political talk is cheap…their vote speaks all you need to hear.

I hope your neck of the woods stays as it is and our new additions leave their socialistic views behind but I'm not that optimistic, sadly.

Sooo, what's the going rate down there 10/15/25/35 an acre per year?!? Mohawk and Warrensburg,Butcher or Tarpine Valleys?!?
