Attempting my first all day hunt...

I'm about half way through my first attempt at an all day sit. Man is it tough! I took about a 30 minute lunch break at the truck. So far I've seen 2 4points and a nice 8 chasing a doe, but couldn't get a shot.

The biggest deer I have seen this year was spotted at 1:30. The only deer I saw between 10ish and 3ish

I did it for the first time last Saturday. Seen deer in the morning and in the evening none in the middle of the day. Probably won't do that again unless I know there is a big buck in the area during rut.

I haven't seen a deer since 1030, but I heard a buck grunting and chasing in the woods behind me at 12. Never saw them though

My cousin killed a big 9 pter yesterday at 1:45.

I sat all day on opening day of rifle and saw absolutely nothing. Man is that a tough sit. I killed a big 9 pointer on Thanksgiving morning so it's all good.

i have killed a bunch between 10 am and 2 pm. but its hard to sit in a tree 20 ft off the ground all day

I can't do it unless it's pretty cool outside. Where I'm at, it's pretty overcast, which does help. I just don't care for these unseasonably warm afternoons.

Perfect all-day sit weather is overcast, very light wind, and a high of no more than 45 or 50.

My problem isn't patience, it's comfort. I have been hunting bare-bones all year, which means I'm not packing in any comfortable chairs/stands. Unfortunately, that cuts my patience in half (or less).

Hats off to you on your commitment - I hope it pays off.

I can do the morning and mid day hunt or mid day and evening hunt. I've still yet to oull an all day sit.

You guys that sit all day must have your wives at home trained well lol

I've hunted probably 5 times all day. I start getting figgity by 11.

Almost dark and still here. It's been tough to say the least! A couple does came through at about 430. Hoping he'll step out any minute now

I've spent a day in a climber...feet off the ground 30 minutes before dawn and not touch ground again until after dark.

Biggest secret is making sure you won't need a bowel movement and bring water, food, and coffee with you.

This year I set a new record: I was able to wait until 9 am before eating my lunch!
