Finally made it out to 40 yards and was I suprised at how much the arrow dropped at that distance. I think my Fred Bear game over at 65# with 80 let off shots around 290 but didnt expect this much drop. New to the game and learning as I go. 60 yards must be a real drop, unless my bow is the problem?

past 40 yds ours starts dropping pretty good , we can do a 5 pin out to 50 but past that need adj site like the HHA , but we don't shoot 3D or hunt past 45 yards so don't bother setting it up past 40.

Sounds like that must be the norm. Just goes to show ya there is something new to learn every day.

Thanks
Ron

When some talks about their bow shooting flat out to x yards, I think they forget one of the main reasons for that. With the sights elevated above the arrow as much as they are the arrow always starts out on upward angle compared to your eyesight. The arrow crosses your line of sight twice. Once on an upward travel and again on a downward travel. So after it gets past a certain distance the drop gets steep. The faster the bow the longer it takes to see that steep drop because the second crossing is farther out from the first. Basically as soon as the arrow is off the bow it starts dropping from the straight line of the arrow on the bow.
