I hate to say it but I've have an S&W M&P T in the safe for
1 1/2 years never been fired, guess tomorrow will pop the cherry

I put about 1500 rounds through mine the first year or so,,I now unload a 30 round mag once a month to keep the ammo fresh,,and be sure it is ready to go,,

take plenty of ammo,,once you get started you will want to shoot it more..
