Anyone hunting a water source this weekend? Pond, Stream, etc... I've got a place that from what I can tell that's about the only reason they would be coming in for is to drink from the pond. I don't have a trail cam and never hunted the property before so there's no telling what may happen saturday

theres a small pond behind the stand i'll be hunting saturday, but im not hunting over the pond. hunting where some major deer highways intersect. have several thousand pictures since july 4th

Very good chance I'll be hunting a small pond either opening morning or Sunday evening. Found it last year and didn't get to hunt it due to not having any good stand options close by. It literally had hundreds of tracks in it so if it looks anything like that this year I'll be giving it a go.

I'm climbing a tree where I can see a creek bottom below me and a soy bean field to my right. Just waiting for a certain Buck. So far 4 decent bucks and 1 that will go 150-160 have used this route. I have 14 hours stand time on this place (in KY) and have seen over 30 deer. It's killing me having to work this week. But I have plenty of vacation time coming up.

I hunted a pond for an entire week of ML one time, sun up to sun down... didn't see a single deer go to the pond even though it was the only water source for 1000 yards. Deer are secretly camels when it comes to drinking water.

BSK could give you an exact percentage probably but deer generally get the VAST majority of their water from the browse they eat and dew that forms on that browse.
