Thanks..I picked up plate setter and v rack this morning. Stopped by Sams went home and did the best ribs I have ever smoked... My oldest son is the pickiest eater I have ever seen, and he demolished at least one rack...I am going to love this thing.

I have had mine since June 2009. It is the best purchase I could have made. Comes with a lifetime warrenty. I got a chip in the outer shell, still don't know from what, called and emailed a picture of it. They sent me a brand new bottom half and told me to keep the old one. If you buy a grill every 2-3 years, you could have bought the egg one time. You get what you pay for. If you like to grill as I do, money would not be a factor. I have never dried anything out cooking. Being ceramic, it holds the moisture. I even cook pizza on mine, the best you ever eat. Cooked by shoulders for 18 hours and not lose 1 degree. I use a small (5 inch) fan at the bottom damper when there is no wind or when I am long cooking. Set your damper to your temperature, then walk away. I have put ribs on Sunday mornings, go to church, ready when we get home. The pig tails are great for turning or picking up about anything. I could go on and on........be glad to give info or recipes if interested.

drying stuff out is why I hated trying and I have my second grill setting on my back porch in 7 years. I would have replaced it next spring for number three. While I don't think I would have ever pulled the trigger on making a BGE purchase myself I am grateful my wife surprised me for my birthday.

I cant wait to grill up some steak tonight lovin it so far everything has been great and juicy..and I have never grilled or smoked ribs as good as the ones I did yesterday.

pm any receipts you want. I been tryin some on the BGE forum I found. I will try anything, just about, once

My only problem with the BGE is for the money, it just really doesn't hold much meat. If I ever buy a ceramic type grill, I'll probably go with the Primos. Since its oval, it holds more meat.

Hey Joey, how did the steaks turn out? You will learn as you go as how to cook certain foods. The way I do my steaks, get the grill hot, 500-600 degrees, place your steaks, seer about 2 mins, turn them over, seer another 2 minutes, turn them back over and close all dampers to put out the fire. Leave them on there anywhere from 2-6 minutes depending how done you want them on the inside. Happy Cooking

I am going to try a whole chicken friday. we should be set at camp for the weekend LOL..

I am finding this a lot better then the ways I cooked before.

Both cookers are great but the Primo is Larger I sell alot of them and several have been too BG owners that want more cooking space. The pic below is 4 9-10 pound butts.

now thats pretty good and if I had a lot of cook outs for friends I would want one. but we rarely have more then 5 -6 people over at once so that much space would just be wasted fuel for me.

tonight's guest will feast on
these two...the back one was put on an hour before I decided I could do two at once LOL it came off with this photo the second one an hour later

then I decided since the grill was on fire Id throw some ribs on so under this

is three racks of BBacks LOL

My grocery bill sure has gone up but Lord thank you the food is grateful and good!!! and the leftovers aint bad either!

Joey,

Looks like you are already a Pro. What I have found out is that I can cook 4 butts at a time and chop and freeze the rest. I put it in portions depending on how many people I'm feeding and it just as good as the day I took it out of the smoker. A couple of things for you to try is get a pizza stone ( any brand will work) and if you have a Papa Murphy's pizza near you grap one and bake it. Also try bakeing frozen biscuits on the stone after you grill a whole roll of sausage on it...As for wasted fuel the picture on the bottom shows me cooking with indirect heat for the chicken and direct for the foiled potatoes, garlic, parsley and olive oil. The cooker has a firebox divider so there is only coals on one side of the cooker that can be removed as it is on the top picture.

cool..if I ever decide I need a bigger cooker I will look u up. I have a baking stone and a papa murphys.. had a hard time getting the dough off that paper plate they come on....was scared it might catch on fire.

Leave the paper on until the last 10min or so of cooking to crisp the crust.... I do demos at our store so I have cooked about everything on these cookers .....The one thing that you need to be aware of is to let all the lump burn out sometimes because if you add everytime then your cooker heat up time will increase. A small shop vac is a great way to clean your ashes also once it cools that is...
