Anybody use a deer sled?

I've got one and bring it every hunt. I've used it 4 times and it dramatically reduces the time and effort of dragging out a deer

I've never used a sled, but I've wheeled them out over a mile with a big wheel game cart, much easier!

Going uphill is the problem with the sled.

I tried a sled. Great downhill and flat ground. The near end of me on a hill and this was no Everest.

Got a cart. only secret is tying deer firmly to cart. He gets loose and shifts weight the cart will tip.

My cart has 18-20 inch solid rubber tires. Bigger tires would be better.......inflated tires would be much better.

Still, tie deer down, start pulling, away you go.

The deer sleyer works well and especially in areas with fallen trees or way back where a cart is not effective. Also you can roll it up and store it in the basket of your ATV or a pack. It takes a little time getting the deer securely tied into the sled but once you do it slides fairly easy.

I don't see a wheelbarrrow as working when going uphill.

I have a web belt I used with the sled. I think over the shoulder is better. tow your kids around the yard.

Take sled and kids to some place with hill and give it a try. The difference is amazing.

With a wheelbarrow, you are still carrying half the load and pushing it too. Much less efficient than letting the ground bear the weight and pulling. The front tire is also much smaller than on a cart, so you have less clearance and a steeper angle of attack to get over obstacles.
