Went both days this past Sat/Sun(Nov 14th/15th). Saw a 4 pt and 6 pt following some does on Saturday morning. Nothing to write home about. Hunted Sunday afternoon and did not see a deer. My partner and I hunted over two separate corn fields. Absolutely nothing. My guess is the acorn crop is so huge(and still falling) the deer are in the woods.

Anyone else in West TN with an update?

I've seen most of my deer in the woods, plenty of acorns. I managed to see 16 deer Sunday morning and had one 4pt chasing.
I did see over 20 in the woods on other weekends and very few in the fields.

I normally don't see much chasing in Hardeman until gun season has been going a bit. Last year, my buddy saw some crazy chasing going on south of Whiteville almost 2 full weeks into December. For what that's worth...

Opening weekend of ML in Hardeman county saw three nice bucks grunting and chasing one doe hard. This past weekend didn't see anything like that. Did see a lot of deer this weekend just nothing big. Opening weekend sightings were out of the norm this past weekend was more on par. LOTS of small bucks making the rounds pestering does.

Thanks Guys, appears we are all witnessing the same experience. We normally don't see bigger bucks until December. I have been hunting around Hickory Valley since 1989. While we have killed our fair share of 120-130 inch deer the bulk of these are bagged in December. We will stick with the woods come Saturday..

We are not seeing any bucks period in Hornsby, Scrapes and rubs popping up but the only daylight movement we have seen have been does.

Dec. is when I always take a week vacation.

In Brownsville I am seeing a lot of rubs and scrapes. Haven't seen much buck movement and I have been hunting the woods consistently. I will switch to a field this weekend for opening of gun. Usually see plenty of deer out of the field as a large thicket is on one side and a large bean crop on the other. All in all, have been seeing mostly doe.

We saw a number of small bucks cruising last weekend in Haywood and see scrapes opening. Zippo this morning, though.

I've only been able to go on the weekends so far but last weekend seen a 2 1/2 yr old 8 come to the estrus call and a group of does and 2 were in heat and a spike was after them. Weekend before seen spike and 4 point chasing and a young 8 making a scrape and fighting with the 4. Scrapes and rubs are picking up. All around whiteville. Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning should be awesome I can't wait!
